Lhasa - Visit Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Market O/N Hotel (BB)
After breakfast at your hotel, our guide will pick you up and drive you to the Potala Palace. Potala Palace is a UNESCO World Heritage site and the Dalai Lama’s winter palace. When first constructed in the seventh century by King Songtsen Gampo, it was considered nine floors high. However, a large fire destroyed the palace in the ninth century. Upon taking power as Tibet’s ruler in the 17th century, the illustrious fifth Dalai Lama built the current Potala Palace. This palace has two halves: the White Palace (built in 1653) and the Red Palace (built in 1694). It is thirteen floors high with over a thousand rooms. This is the most visited and one of the favorite locations in Tibet. Once you reach the top of the Palace, you will be mesmerized by the bird-eye-view of the whole of Lhasa.
Later, we will have lunch and then visit the sacred Jokhang Temple, a 1300-year-old temple. The Jokhang Monastery is supposed to have been constructed for Chinese Princess Wencheng and Nepalese Princess Bhrikuti, the two wives of King Songtsen Gampo. It is home to the world’s most valuable life-size figure Buddha statue of the 12-year-old Sakyamuni and the holiest location for Buddhist pilgrims.
We will wrap our day with a visit to Barkhor Market, where we can find handicrafts and gifts from different cultures. We also get to dress in traditional Tibetan attire for a picture. Once you reach Jokhang temple, never forget to stroll around the Barkhor market.
Overnight at Lhasa.

We will pass through Gampala Pass (4900m) and Nyangchu Valley and view the stunning turquoise-toned lake, which looks even more dazzling during sunlight. We will take a short break on Gampala Pass, enjoy the breathtaking view, click some photos, and then continue towards the shore of Yamdrok Lake.
Several snow-capped mountains encircle this beautiful lake, and we can also view Mount Nyenchen Khangsar (7191m), a holy mountain and the highest mountain in the area.
Later, we will get back to Lhasa.

Lhasa - Visit Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery O/N Hotel (BB)
In the early morning, you will eat a decent breakfast at your hotel; later, our guide will pick you up and take you to two of the three great Gelug monasteries in Tibet, Drepung and Sera Monastery.
Drepung Monastery, built in 1416 by Jamyang Choeje, was home to 10,000 monks and was the dwelling place and place of burial for the second, third, and fourth Dalai Lama. When the Dalai Lama relocated to the Potala Palace, Ganden Palace became his residence in Drepung. This monastery also offers a bird’ s-eye view of Lhasa.
Later, we will visit another large monastery, Sera Monastery, located at the base of Tatipu Hill. This monastery was established in 1419 by Tsongkapa. Additionally, you’ll see the three Sand Mandalas and a vibrant rock artwork of Buddha. Later, we will visit the Tibetan sacred text printing house. The most fascinating sight in this monastery is the monks’ debate in the courtyard. It has long served as the hub for spreading Buddhist teachings and the enlightenment of several Buddhist masters.
